Drunk Security Guards Abusing and Threatening Residents – Feeling Unsafe in My Own Society
I’m writing this because I’m genuinely shaken and frustrated by what happened tonight in my housing society. Around 10:30 PM, a friend of mine came to visit me, and we had a horrifying encounter with the on-duty security guards. Both guards were visibly drunk and started hurling abuses at us, using words like “madarchod” and “bhenchod.” As if that wasn’t enough, one of them even pulled out a stick and threatened to beat my friend while yelling things like, “Who the f*** are you?” My friend was furious, and honestly, I felt completely unsafe and helpless. As a woman, this incident has left me feeling extremely vulnerable, especially considering this is the place I should feel the safest—my own home. It’s horrifying to think that the people responsible for our safety could behave this way. I’ve reported this to the society management, but I’m posting here to ask: What more can I do? Has anyone faced something similar? How can we ensure proper accountability and prevent incidents like this from happening again? To everyone reading this, I hope you never have to go through something like this. And to anyone in a position of authority: Please don’t wait for something worse to happen before taking action. Thanks for reading. Any advice would mean a lot.4
