What’s up r/Politics! My name is Kim King-Hinds and I’m a lawyer, marathon runner, and freshman Member of Congress who serves on 3 committees and 7 subcommittees.   My home is the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) which is a part of the Marianas Archipelago (also includes Guam). We are a community of just under 50,000 people who reside on the islands of Saipan, Rota, and Tinian. Our culture is incredibly diverse with two main indigenous groups: Chamorro and Refaluwasch.   Most Americans have no idea what the CNMI is, nor do they know it is a part of the US.
