Suggestion needed for trip

Software developer side hustling as a social scientist( I am an economist by training). I can work from anywhere. Wanting to understand the north eastern society better. Going solo now. Last time was in gangtok but it was for honeymoon where we got married again in a Buddhist ceremony. I have shortlisted shillong and aizawl. I don't want to have many mainlanders around like marwaris and bengalis. And with my south indian catholic upbringing I am very curious about the transformative work of anglican/reformist there. Especially after trained in radical philosophies like marx, hegel, feurbach who stand on the shoulders of the great Protestant thinkers of the 16th century germany. Respectful answers are welcome.
