A serious case of cultural flush
I have a story to tell before I state any of my experience this decade. I have a very naive uncle who does business ( loan and stuff ) with Haring ( non tribals ) he hangs out with them due to business reasons and also personal choices. What are the personal choices you may ask me? See the older generation pre 90's got their funds and facilities from the Indian government when they didn't even understand why it's being provided unless they're the top 10-15% of well educated people. So, the major young masses viewed mainlanders as a race of people in luxury. And when one looks up and watches another living a life they can't even fathom, it brings desire. So I've been told by my village elders like how roti and paratha used to be extravagant, rajesh khanna or shashi kapoor used to be fashion icons and so on. The inferiority or worshipping has always been there. Now back to the tale. My uncle was sending so much time with harings that they somehow maged to get in his head ( obviously easy) the correlation of donyi polo with surya dev and chandra dev , abu tani being a relatable or same story of rama and even cultural etiquets. Lo and behold my uncle started buying small god idols , wearing bhagwa and agarbatti inside car. When he got sick instead of the local rituals he'd go to a pandit or some sorts of Hindu gurus. The local community got caught of it and somehow he doesn't do that but one rotten tomato ruins the whole sack. The same thing has started happening. I've met people refusing to consume beef with an awkward smile, preference of Hindu pujari and total dive into geeta and hanuman chalisa also bhajans. The crowd is not huge but noticeable enough. Also the concept of weed is amusing in a stupid way. Youth smokes ganja and declares themselves shiv bhakt. Secondly kanglu , I have never heard local people have any problem with them ( I don't want them here ) till now but locals do mention that in Assam those bangladeshi Assamese are very evil and criminal minded, I've myself met 2 bangladeshi goons ( not sure but they were muslim ) in tezpur and silapathar. There are still small amount of chakma hajongs crying in delhi demanding land in Arunachal but that's not a big issue. Now comes the imposter , the nepalis. Tgeyve been a roomate with us for so long that some nepalis are harder to distinguish between the locals. These people will use women as a tool to get into family and demand facilities like land , surname and a place in community. The youth itself is busy ditching the identity to label themselves as k-pop or hiphop. A total globalization genocide of a culture. Nothing much can be done but let this just be a warning.5
