Using the p slur created by Westerners for South Asians for Northeast Indian people is stupid and we shouldn't give in to prove we're "Indian". We're Indian because we're part of the union and it's our citizenship
First things first, it's not okay to use that slur on anyone(except trolls maybe) no matter what. I'm not going to encourage any Northeast Indian being extreme racists and harrassing others. Secondly, We as Northeast Indians shouldn't be giving in to it either because the stereotypes associated with it have literally nothing to do with us. Things like cow worship, a certain "indian" phenotype, the accent etc hardly apply to even the most indicized people like the Assamese. Bhutanese and Nepali people are South Asian too but nobody calls them the P slur do they? It's because there is a certain culture and ethnicity associated with it which they don't pass for. Mainland India has it's own cultural sphere which everyone living in it has more or less connected history and shared culture with whether you like it or not. NE doesn't fall under that cultural sphere. There are many ethnicities in Kazakhstan but nobody is going to call an Uzbek with a slur for Kazakhs or Tatars and so on. From the perspective of someone who lives abroad, our people already face racism for looking Asian and the typical dog eating mockery that we ALREADY face in Mainland India too. Other than it already not making sense in the first place We should not give in to the p slur to prove that we're "Indian" and make things harder for us abroad. We also don't need to tamper our reputation just because we're part of the Indian union. We're culturally, racially, ethnically different and we don't need more stereotypes that We don't even have anything to do with specially those associated with a demographic who have a reputation for mistreating people from our region based on racial lines. Doing this doesn't make us any less Indian.5
