  • Question : Why are some people not ashamed of blatantly stealing the cultural dance of the Mizo people?

The dance being performed here is a dance of the Mizo and their kindred Zo ethnic tribes. It is renowned across India and the world as Cheraw (in the common Mizo dialect called Duhlian). However, people who appears to be Meitei women are performing this in traditional Meitei dresses in a governmental function. Is there no shame in theft of culture and appropriation of culture amongst our people?
