Mocking and distorting the history of the people of the Northeast by Bishnupriya migrants from Bengal
Background: These Bishnupriya are low-caste migrants from Bengal. They used to live in Cachar but migrated to Manipur when it was overrun by the Kachari and the Dimasas. The Meitei king gave them refuge out of humanity. They were greatly influenced by Meitei culture, language, and the clan system. However, this treacherous community has started distorting our history and claiming themselves as the original "Manipuri." They have even called the Meitei Chinese invaders. The same rhetoric is being spread to the native Tripuri and Ahoms, labeling them as Chinese invaders by these treacherous Bengali migrants. Moral lesson to other sisters who are not yet affected: Never settle Bengalis or Bishnupriyas in your land, or else you will face what these Meiteis are facing.1
