I am from North, help me understand why is there so much more conflict among northeastern people (possibly excluding Assam and sikkim idk) considering it is a much smaller region as compared to the rest of India which considerably larger but still united by only one thing that is shared culture.

Why does northeast people not have like a unity on the basis of shared heritage, or do you all don't have any? North East is like the Balkans I think, on some level.
