Facing Workplace Harassment – I Don’t Know What to Do Anymore
Hi everyone, I’m writing this with a lot of pain and frustration because I genuinely don't know what to do anymore. I work as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in the Quality Control Department at a private company. Since January, I've been facing harassment from a senior manager — someone who's supposed to guide and mentor me. At first, it was small things — inappropriate comments, stares — but I ignored them thinking I was overreacting. But then it became physical. He held my arm tightly in front of others during work. Another time, he grabbed my arm and waist in front of a senior colleague. That moment made me feel so small and helpless — I can't explain the shame I felt. I reported everything to HR the very next minute. I even confronted him the Manager, hoping that would make him stop — but it only made things worse. Instead of protecting me, the company seems to be protecting him. What Happened After I Complained: He tried to change my shift to cause more trouble to me. He tried to move my workstation near his office so I'd have to see him every day and the position of my cabin was also very unsafe. When I refused, he transferred me to another location without any explanation. He removed me from the official WhatsApp group and started spreading rumors that I had been fired just to show his power. He even made disrespectful comments about my dear ones in front of others. I’ve gone to HR, senior officials, and even tried to reach higher management — but no one is responding appropriately. They act like nothing ever happened. I'm scared. Every day I go to work with a heavy heart, waiting for what he'll do next. I don't have anyone to guide me or tell me what steps to take. I don't understand why everyone is silent. Why is it so easy for them to ignore this? I feel completely alone. If anyone here knows what I should do next or how to fight back — kindly tell me. I can't take this anymore.4
