To NEETs who ended up getting a job, how did you get around the gap in your resume?

I'm 24 and only worked with my father one summer at 18, so i basically don't have a resume. I wouldn't know how to make one if I tried. One of my biggest worries is that if I try to finally break through my anxiety and get a job, I'll immediately get judged for having nothing to show for my 6 years of adulthood. Is it really just fine to lie? It's not illegal to do so?
