  • There is slight hope out there...try Americorps if you can

Hey all, I've posted here long ago about my journey. Basically hadn't had a FT job in 30ish years of existing. But, my dad passed in 2017. He supported me financially. So now, I had to enter the workforce. I lived off inheritance for several years, found a PT gig I hated, etc. Well, in Feb., I found a job through Americorps. They accept people with huge resume gaps, and my job is in a school tutoring math--so, I get summers off, holidays, weekends, etc. And, we only work with 4ish students at a time. Also, since we are technically volunteers, we get to receive SNAP benefits ($291/month). My stipend is about 30K, and you get health insurance, a 7K education award at the end, etc. IT STILL SUCKS. Lol. But, a more bearable option if you have to get out there!!!
