Strange Encounter at Central Park Kharghar – Car Breakdown and a Mysterious Mechanic
Today, I visited Central Park Kharghar and had a rather peculiar experience. When I returned to my car, which was working perfectly fine earlier, it wouldn't start. I tried checking under the bonnet but had no luck figuring out the problem. Out of nowhere, a guy on an Activa approached me, asking if my car wasn't starting. I ignored him initially, but he insisted that he was a mechanic and had come with his family, who were waiting for him nearby. Thinking there was no harm in letting him take a look, I agreed. After a quick inspection, he said the engine wasn't getting fuel and that the fuel pump needed replacing. It was getting late, and the park had already closed. I had my kid with me, and towing the car would have been costly and time-consuming. He mentioned he could take the fuel pump out, get it repaired at a nearby store, and replace the motor for ₹1100 for his service and ₹3400 for the fuel pump. Although it seemed steep, given the situation, I agreed. He swiftly removed the fuel pump assembly, and within 20 minutes, he was back and had it reinstalled. To my surprise, the car started right up as if nothing had happened. I asked for the replaced part, but he was in a hurry and left without giving it to me. I can't shake off the feeling that I got scammed, but I can't understand how someone could control a car to not let it start and suddenly let it start.5
