Crackdown on "Illegal Bangladeshis"

Recently our maid quit, citing that the NM police have been cracking down on all the Bengalis regardless if they are legal or not. She said they've been coming to their areas of residence and work to catch them. She claims that they are catching all the Bangladeshis even the ones from WB. She has an adhaar and ration card but doesn't have a passport. The police catch them all regardless and quote 20-30k bribes to release each person, that's almost 1 lac for a family of 4. This is going to affect the house-help market in our area cuz we have alot of Bengalis.
