It's heartbreaking to see dead stray puppies
I recently moved back to Nagpur and was surprised to see the strays here are not sterilized (never paid attention to streeties a decade ago when I was here before). I wondered but didn't bother much until now. The service road beside the Narendra Nagar flyover is not only busy + congested but there is also an open land beside it. A couple of times in the last few days I saw dead puppies in this empty area beside the footpath. I wondered where they came from. Until yesterday I saw two men on a scooty holding a dead puppy by his hindleg dumping his body in this area. I was shook and wasn't sure what exactly it was. There is also a female dog in this area with her two small puppies who were still breastfeeding. I assumed the rest of her litter might not have survived because these roads (and people) are not exactly puppy-friendly. This evening I saw one of the puppies had died at the roadside and the mother laid beside him and didn't move at all. She was probably in shock and barked when I approached to see if it was her dead puppy since it was dark. It was disheartening. Upon research, I came across two NGOs but seems like they respond to severe cases and may not operate in Narendra Nagar (why though). **I don't know whom to approach to get these dogs neutered and spayed. I need a prompt response.** \#streetdogs4
