Shifting to Mumbai for Job, Need Advice/Suggestions.

I am currently working in a Public Sector Bank in Chandigarh. I applied in higher scale in another Public Sector Bank which I have cleared and they are posting me in North Mumbai. Now, I am seeking your help as to ascertain what will be my life living in Mumbai. My primary concern is about accommodation and transportation. My lease entitlement will be 25k and my office will is in Malad West on Swami Vivekanand Road. Will I be able to get a decent accommodation in any nearby area in amount mentioned above. I am married but no kids yet so I would prefer a 1 BHK in a safe and good locality. Transportation will depend on the my residence and its distance from office. I guess bringing my car there will not possible due to parking issues and availability of local transport. Secondly, if there is anyone who is working in any Public Sector Bank or in Bank of India precisely, what's the work culture there? Is late sitting is the norm for each day? Any other fact or advise you would like to give to someone who is coming to Mumbai for living. Thanks in advance.
