How does one rent a house in this city without restrictions of women/men coming over!?

I rented a 1bhk in powai, because I prefer the privacy of a house all to myself. Now, it turns out the owner and the society has a problem when women come over. I have faced this problem in other indian cities, but I always had this perspective that I won't have to face this in Mumbai, because people don't care as much. But turns out, it's the same here too. Now, even when I am looking to shift to a new place, I am trying to make it clear beforehand that my friends of all genders will be coming over sometimes and I don't want any issue with that. But seems like it is difficult to find in Powai. This is just a rant after being super fucking fed up of trying to live a normal life within the laws of the country. What in the world does one even do at this point? Give up?
