Fees for art classes in mumbai suburb?

I want to learn canvas painting. Recently visited a class where the tutor told me it'll be 1.5k per session of 1 hour. Don't you think it's too much expensive? If you have any ideas how should I proceed in order to learn paintings please suggest.
