• Cab driver not returning my earbuds

Hi Mumbai, asking for help here: I was travelling to the airport today, and when I was getting out of the cab (booked on Ola), my earbuds fell out of the my pocket in the cab. I realised this had happened at the security, and immediately called the driver. He picked up and confirmed that my earbuds were with him in the car. I asked him if he can drop them off to my friend and I offered to pay him 500 bucks for the trouble. He made an excuse about being on duty and told me he will drop it off if he gets another ride to the area. I asked him for his WhatsApp so I can send him the drop location, and he sent me a number which he uses remotely for WhatsApp, and is actually based in Allahabad. I have been texting him constantly ever since, telling him I will pay, and my friend can also come and collect them from him if the driver can’t come to our area (Sion). He has stopped responding and taking my calls. I’ve reached out to Ola, and they’ve told me to file a police complaint. I am not based out of Bombay, so can this be done remotely? The earbuds are worth 4000 bucks. I have the guys cab number, name, and WhatsApp phone number. Is there any recourse for me here? Would really appreciate your advice :)
