To all those with superbike dreams
This post is inspired by a question posted on this sub today. I think most folks on this sub would be in their 20s or younger. So here is my story of how I achieved my superbike dream. So as a kid, I loved supercars. Then during engineering, my dad gifted me a pulsar 200 dtsi in 2008. Happened to do few overnight rides and got hooked. That's when I decided I wanted to buy a bike for touring mainly. Started my job in 2011. The ninja 250 launched which was my dream bike. But didn't have the funds at that time. So was just saving money. Then in 2013, the ninja 300 launched and then i was day dreaming about this bike, saw I don't know how many reviews on YT. Best one was powerdrift review of it which I saw like 500 times maybe. I still didn't have the funds to buy it without a loan. But then the itch was too much. So decided to buy on loan. But then my dad came as a saviour and said he will pay whatever remaining loan i wanted to take. And then i made a deal with dad that I will repay him through monthly installments. In this way, I made sure I bought the bike withy own money without burdening my parents, and it also helped in not paying any interest to the banks. And there you go, sept 2013, my dream came true. I used her only for weekend breakfast and yearly weekly rides. Had loads and loads of fun, happiness, and an emotional connection with the n300. Rode on this bike for 10yrs and 55k kms. And then in 2023, upgraded to the ninja 650 without dads help this time. Just hard work, patience in accumulating money, and ofcourse now that I'm married, a wife that fully supports my hobby and passion. Heck on my birthdays, I get riding jackets and the like as gifts. Couldn't feel luckier and happy in life. Don't have any dream bike as such anymore, but I'm loving the dream of owning and riding and following my biking passion. Ps- Writing all this suddenly feeling so nostalgic and a feeling of gratitude towards life. I wish and I'm sure if any of you in this forum work hard to achieve their bike dream, show patience, empathy towards others on the road and ride in a sane manner, every dream is possible. Ride safe. Cheers3
