Review of the Shotgun 650. 5k+ KM [OC]
Here's a quick review of the bike: Ride quality - Exteemely nimble, very easy to handle, the weight you kinda get used to (Tip: strength train) Suspensions - Stiff but because i wear a Solace flow gel shorts quite a bit of the impact is absorbed. You will still feel the bumps though. Tyres - Very Tarmac focused. A little bit of unevenneess can kinda get this to slip a little. Could've done with better tyres. Flies on tarmac and smooth roads Braking - Very solid. Good amount of power. Has saved me in a couple of tricky situations. However my SG seems to squeak when I hit the brakes irrespective of cleaning, smoothing out brake pads etc. No issues otherwise Can it offroad? - why this question? Because most of India is offroad. The torque-iness of the engine actually helps with off reading. I've done a decent bit of it unintentionally but the bike did handle really well. The low ground clearance posed an issue at times while offroading but so far hasn't given any troubles Fuel efficiency - About 18-20 in the city. 25 on highways Speed - So i don't ride too fast but once in a while I've done 140kmph. No vibrations. Smooth. But given the absence of a windshield, the aero drag is very obvious (crouched when need be) Have I dropped the bike - Yes, twice. But soft drops so got away with a couple of scratches Service - Haven't faced any issues so far Headlight - terrible throw. Bought RE's official aux lights with 1080 lumens per light. Its better but still not spot on Others - don't like the fact that the Shotgun has a USB under the hood and not on the top. Makes charging extremely difficult. Now I carry 3 power banks. Who should buy this? 1. Someone who strength trains (trust me you need it) 2. Someone who has experience with bike riding across terrains in general 3. Someone who wants to have a bike with a mean road presence 4. Someone who is ok wearing gel shorts underneath and a strong lower back Hope this helps. Lemme know if you have any questions.5
