My First 300km Ride on a Honda SP 125 – Experience & Insights

Just completed my first 300km ride from Chennai to Bangalore on my 2021 Honda SP 125, and I must say, this little commuter bike impressed me big time! Ride Stats: Distance: 300 km Fuel Efficiency: ~60 kmpl Fuel Cost: ₹500 Cruising Speed: 60-70 km/h Total Ride Time: 6 hours (excluding breaks) Breaks: 50 km - 10 min 150 km - quick refresh 240 km - final stop Bike Performance: Had 40kg of luggage tied at the back, but surprisingly, no performance lag. Easily touched 90 km/h when needed, overtaking was effortless. Smooth ride with no vibrations in the 65-75 km/h range. Pull from 30-65 km/h in 5th gear felt strong and effortless. Comfort & Gear: Used a woolen blanket as a seat cushion—helped a lot in preventing butt pain! Wore full shoes & a great hoodie, which helped reduce fatigue by blocking the opposite wind. Final Thoughts: This ride proved that the SP 125 is more than just a city commuter. With great fuel economy, smooth performance, and decent comfort, it handled the long ride surprisingly well!
