Is there any legal procedure if I want to modify a bike without changing its colour

I want to get the speed 400 but I don't really like the huge graphics on its tanks. I prefer the old school minimalist Triumph logo. So if get a black s400 and completely blackout its tank and then change the logo is there any legal procedure. Is it even legal to do it in the first place?
