“Gaadi hata Rahul Gandhi Aa raha hai” (my first major accident)
I have been recovering from an accident for past 1 month now, my bike is still broken, so is my knee, This happened a month ago in morning around 8:30 when i was heading to clg for End Sem exams, before anyone thinks i was running late, I left 2 hours early so i could get to clg and study with my friends, This plan changed when in front of DLF Sector 18, a baleno and a honda city crossed me at 120+ ki speed and i looked behind for a very brief moment to see how close they cut me off, I was travelling at 80/90 kmph ki speed when an uncle on a bicycle decided it would be genius to cross an expressway diagonally without looking, I crashed into him without any change in speed (i.e I was still at 80/90 when i crashed into him head on) I was dragged on the road with my knee still underneath the bike, Himalayan is heavy af, After i stopped dragging, a traffic police cop came to me and the bicycle wala and asked us to get off road immediately cause rahul Ghandi was coming on that road, mind you i just almost killed someone and I suffered injuries of my own but the audacity of noida ke police wale was next level, He took images of my license plate, my driving license and asked me to pay the cycle wala to which i said no, cause that cycle wala just damaged my bike for 20k+ and it was his fault not mine, a horde of bystanders came upon me to defend the cycle wala saying “ye road pe 80 ki speed me chalte hai?” To which i almost snapped at one saying “iss road pe cycle diagonally be nhi chalti”, i ended up paying 1500 to cycle wala cause they knew i was now running late for my exam that i could not afford to miss, Later I got the bike picked up using RE RSA (Road side assistance) My bike damage costed me 20k, the handlebar, the brakes, the front tyre, the front cockpit area was all gone, Me personally, my both knees were the only visible and bad damage i had thankfully cause i was wearing gear (was just missing on riding pants)1
