Do NOT give your money to TVS
TL;DR: The engine had an issue within the first 3k kms and they had to change the block and piston. All this happened just because of a stupid mistake of the mechnanic who did the first service of my bike.It took them 2 weeks just to figure out what's wrong with the bioe. Jan 20: I went for a short ride and the bike stalled suddenly, and it didn't start after that. I tried bump starting that too didn't work. After struggling for around an hour, I called the RSA. Some guy came with jumper wire and a battery but since the battery was not an issue he went back. Next day I got the bike towed to nearest service centre. Whole day they kept the bike untouched, when I went there in the evening they said there seems to be leakage around the spark plugs so they are going to put some sealant and the bike would be ready in an hour. But that didn't fix the problem and the bike still didn't start. They said they'll flash the ECU and the bike will be ready by next day. Next day (22 Jan): They flashed the ECU, still the bike didn't start. I was told spark is correct, fuel pump is also functioning fine and the compression is also enough to get the bike started. But they'll inspect it again tomorrow and try to find the issue. Jan 23: I was told there seems to be an issue with the ignition coil (These bikes have an integrated ignition coil and spark plug cap manufactured by BMW). They said they have placed an order and they'll receive the part in 2-3 days. Jan 27: Parts received and replaced still the bike didn't start, meanwhile I was contacted by some service supervisor. He said they are gonna try to flash the ECU again and look for any error codes. Again next day same story. Jan 28: No result of flashing the ECU, the supervisor called me and told me that they are not able to figure out what's wrong with the bike and the RnD team from TVS is gonna visit and inspect the bike. Jan 30: RnD team visits and inspects the bike and find a scoring mark on the piston which was causing loss of compression which was not letting the bike start since these BS6 engines are super sensitive. I was told the parts have been ordered and it'll take 2-3 days to arrive. Feb 7: Parts finally received and replaced. And next day I got the bike. And the reason behind all of this is that the mechnanic who serviced the bike didn't change the oil filter after first service and the metal shavings from the break-in period damaged the piston3
