Is it similar to North Indian version.

This is a random post, because of a conversation I had with my friend sometime back. I told him that Mangalore's roadside pani puri shops (not the golgappas,but from trolley shops with other items) serve the best pani puri, which tastes amazing. I haven't found similar puri snacks in Bangalore. My friend suggested a few places, claiming they might be better, but I've tried pani puri from nice North Indian restaurants, which tastes good but isn't similar to what's available in Mangalore. Are the pani puri in Mangalore similar to the North Indian version, or is it just a placebo effect in my mind?
