Witnessed some shady stuff during police verification for passport renewal

So, I had to go renew my passport recently. I got the call to visit the station, and I made my way there with all the requested documents. When I arrived, I saw the person before me discreetly bribing the inspector who was signing the document, and the constable who was writing the details in the register. I saw what I saw and just thought, “Well, that’s how it is…” When it was my turn, the inspector made small talk, signed my document, and then... the hint was dropped. He was waiting for a bribe, but I stood there in silence. I’m not used to this kind of situation, so all I could muster was a polite “thank you.” He handed me my document and then told me to meet him inside. I didn’t know how to respond, so I handed my document to the constable, signed the register, and left. Now, I’m not sure what’s going to happen to my application. Have any of you been through something similar? Should I be worried about my application now? I just really want to get this over with.
