When Surfing and Staring Don’t Mix: Mulki Surf Club Chronicles
So, yesterday, I’m working at the Surf Club, just another regular day. A girl is near the reception, showing off her wave board skills, having a good time. Then comes this guy — the kind who thinks staring like he's in a K-drama is totally normal. He’s giving her those “I’m harmless, I swear” looks while she’s just vibing, completely unaware of what’s coming. Next thing you know, he walks up to her and starts throwing compliments her way like she asked for them. She wasn’t interested, but he kept talking like it was some Bollywood romance. The poor girl tried to talk to her friends to get away, but nope, he wasn’t taking the hint — like he thought this was some kind of reality show and he’s the main contestant. Luckily, her friends, being the real MVPs, came in and helped her dodge the awkwardness. As someone who works here, let me just say: Mulki is all about the surf and good vibes, not about creepy staring and unsolicited compliments. So, to all the future guests, remember — surf the waves, not the personal space.1
