Mangalorean Catholic Genealogy

Hey, question for Mangalorean Catholics, how many generations back are you able to trace your genealogy? I know up to my great-great grandparents through relatives. Is there anyway to find out further back? Do you know if there are older church records for birth and death and if they’re easily accessible, and would they be in Kannada script or English? (I don’t have any close family that still lives in Mangalore who’d be able to check)
