Mangalore Snacks Suggestions

My spouse is returning from Mangalore today to Mumbai, It will take him 20h to reach. I have never visited south india. What can he get for me which stays edible the next day as well? I've asked him for Mangalore buns, will it stay fresh? Is there any other dishes that I can try?
