Is Mangalore really the city of road humps(speed breakers)

Seriously, nowhere in any other Indian city have I seen these many speed humps. Every 100 metres there is a speed hump. And some are done really trashy that if you have a pillion rider your bike can get damaged especially the exhaust part. Today early morning some work was going on to add another hump just in front of Mangala Devi temple.
