Kerala takes action to prevent atrocities against transgender persons, plans district cells
In a move aimed at protecting transgender persons and ensuring swift justice for victims of crimes, the Kerala Police will establish Transgender Protection Cells (TPC) in all police districts across the state. These cells are designed to prevent atrocities against transgender people. These cells work in close coordination with existing Women's Cells, which come under the District Police Offices. The Women's Cell Inspector or Sub-Inspector will be entrusted with the supervision of these new units.1
