Packing with my wife for a week long trip

We’re originally from Tamil Nadu but living in Melbourne now. we’re in India for a family wedding, we’ve planned a week-long trip to Kerala. We’re after some suggestions for places that aren’t overrun with tourists. Most of the popular spots seem pretty crowded, so we’re looking for somewhere a bit quieter with stunning scenery more of a chilled, off-the-beaten-path, hippie vibe.
