Hi peeps, Why ക്ക pronounce different in നിനക്ക് and എനിക്ക് ?

So, i know that it may be because of the യ sound before. But still how യ്ക്ക് sound different to ക്ക് in എനിക്ക് right? Basically it's doesn't feel like a joint sound more like a different sound letter.
