  • Are ayurveda medicines approved by CDSCO ?

The FDA do not approve many Ayurveda drugs (unless it is rebranded as dietary supplements). But I have heard that drugs under "traditional formulation" does not require approval from CDSCO. Is this True? If yes, what does it mean for the safety of people consuming these medicines? Can they use urine and faeces of animals in it and sell it without properly sterilizing it? Can they also sell products with heavy metals and toxins in it? Ofcourse, if these proved immediate adverse effects then CDSCO can ban it. But what if it produces adverse effects over a long time?
