Not a JEE aspirant
I don’t know how I stumbled upon this subReddit, gave my jee back in 2013. Seeing all the posts about parents supporting their lads brought me back memories. I worked for 2 years ( great job and salary), post my graduation and was giving cat at the same time. I somehow managed 99 percentile every-time, but didn’t qualify in English. For my second attempt, I was working from home and prepared day and night for that exam. Got a percentile that sounds good, but again didn’t qualify English. I was sad, but not in a very bad state. But I saw my mother crying. Somehow she came to a conclusion that my English is bad because I was raised in a village and started blaming herself. I don’t believe in that since I studied in one of the best schools in our town. I didn’t qualify because I tried to over optimise th sections in which I’m already good. That’s when I decided to change my ways and started working on reading skills. Third time is the charm. This time my mother kissed me on my hands, don’t know where she saw that. That made me happy. Thanks to this sub for bringing back those memories.3
