Does IIT make good engineers at the end of the day?
Does IIT even make good engineers? I recently saw a video interviewing this JEE AIR 1 ranker called ‘Ved Lahoti’. No offense, but he really looks retarded. In every single interview that I have seen, it is almost as if he is held at gunpoint. I checked out his Quora profile and his answers literally gave me a stroke while I was trying to read them. I mean.. you would expect good language proficiency from such a smart guy. Look, I am not a JEE aspirant and know nothing about the exam except its rigor, which I thoroughly respect; But all these rankers look so robotic whenever I see them and it makes me question. The students whom I have seen giving theexam have no interest in the field whatsoever and just give it to be able to find a good job and get settled in life; No passion for innovation at all. Does it make the students so burnt out at the end that they lose all interest? Through my very limited knowledge about the exam, I feel as if JEE is only a resilience and commitment test rather than actually testing the student’s passion for the subject. Does sheer academic rigor make a good engineer? Is IIT even any good? Sorry if I offended anyone. Please do not be rude in the replies.2
