Advice about how to not be so easily fooled and not be so naive ? Mods please don't delete this .
****PLEASE DONT DOWNVOTE ME A LOT IF ITS NOT THE RIGHT KIND OF POST AS IF MY KARMA WILL BE TOO LOW I WON'T BE ABLE TO POST AND COMMENT ANYTHING**** I am a 16-year-old male. My parents are helicopter parents, and they are using other people, like teachers and classmates, to brainwash, fool, and gaslight me. I want to ask: how can I avoid being fooled by them? They are trying to control me and are forcing me to choose college courses that I don’t want. I have a few solutions in mind that I think might work: 1. Try to maintain minimal contact with people who are involved in their plans. 2. Maintain a list of truths and facts and review them regularly so I don’t get fooled easily. 3. If they tell me a lie to fool me, I plan to make a list of all their lies on one side and the actual reality on the other side. I’ll review these regularly. 4. There’s a subreddit, r/CBSE, which is an Indian subreddit for students like me. I plan to post there if they come up with a narrative to fool or manipulate me. People in the subreddit can help me figure out whether it’s true or just lies. These are all the solutions I can think of. However, despite doing all these things, it’s still stressing me out a lot. These steps help a little, but they don’t completely stop me from being fooled. The main issue is that my parents involve other people and get everyone to gaslight me. They also use convincing acting and lies to fool me. So, if you have any advice or insights, please share them. Also, what are some subreddits where I can get better help with this situation? Please acknowledge all my questions here and provide suggestions.2
