Reckless Driving on N13 Chalo Bus at 2:20 PM
Public transportation is meant to ensure a safe and reliable journey for commuters, but the N13 Chalo Bus on the Satyasai-TCS route is failing in this responsibility. Reports from passengers reveal alarming instances of overspeeding and reckless behavior, particularly on the 2:20 PM service. Even more disturbingly, on multiple occasions, the driver and conductor have been observed switching seats while the bus is in motion after crossing Luvkush Square. This practice is not just unprofessional—it is a direct threat to passenger safety. When the passenger count is low, instead of maintaining standard operating procedures, the bus staff appears to take unnecessary risks, treating the journey carelessly. Overspeeding is another serious issue, as drivers seem to disregard speed limits when there are fewer people on board. While passenger numbers may fluctuate, safety should never be compromised. It is the responsibility of the Chalo Bus management and transport authorities to ensure that drivers and conductors adhere to strict safety guidelines at all times. Immediate action is necessary to address these concerns. There must be strict monitoring, penalties for reckless behavior, and routine checks to prevent such dangerous practices from continuing. If these issues are ignored, it is only a matter of time before negligence turns into a serious accident—one that could have been prevented with timely intervention.1
