Touchpad of laptop not working after connecting mouse

Hello in my hp windows 10 laptop the touchpad was working fine but I connected a mouse to it after that when I shutdown and restarted the pointer disappeared if I connect the mouse then pointer appears. If I unplug the mouse then the pointer stays there but no response from touchpad. I saw numerous tutorials from YouTube but there was no solution for me. When I go to mice and other pointing device settings it shows the touchpad is working fine. Can someone help me
