The RBI is set to introduce the ‘.bank.in’ domain for Indian banks to tackle financial fraud. All banks in India must adopt this domain by April 1, 2025. RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra stated that this move will help customers identify legitimate banking websites and avoid fraudulent ones. With rising digital frauds, the RBI emphasized the need for action across all stakeholders. A ‘fin.in’ domain will also be launched soon for the wider financial sector, as part of the RBI’s ongoing efforts to strengthen digital security in banking and payments.
