Do phones in India consume more battery than overseas? Why?

I keep seeing battery usage reports from people overseas claiming 8 hours of SOT, even 9. Personally, I have never achieved more than 6 hours of SOT on phone I've ever had - and they've all been flagships with ~5000mAh capacity. I'm seeing this even right now with a new S25 Ultra where its sub is claiming 8-9 hours while I'm at 4.5 SOT. Personally I've felt my phone lasted longer when I've been overseas but I haven't measured it quantifiably so this could be place. I used to think that factors like the spectrum being used may be causing this (India using higher frequency, more power-consuming spectrum for 4G compared other countries). But we're all on 5G now with pretty much the same spectrum, so what's the factor here? Do people really get 8ish hours of SOT in India?
