How to dispose a punctured lithium battery?

I was learning some laptop disassembly on a dead laptop but there was this nasty screw near hdd which was just beside the battery which wasn't loosening at all. I used some force to get it out but while doing that it tore off a small pin sized hole on the cover of lithium battery. I somehow managed to extract the drive and kept the laptop and it's battery outside the home just to prevent a fire hazard. How do I dispose it now?
