Is there a general disdain for Americans in India?

I'm a student majoring in Anthropology, and I am looking to do education abroad somewhere that would give me the most culture shock in order to break down any ethnocentrism I have left. I've always been fascinated with India, , so I figured why not visit. I guess my concern is that for the most part the entire world, understandably, hates America and since I am American I fall under that umbrella. Is there a general dislike to Americans in that regard? If so, is it regional or equal in terms of disdain across the country?
