I shared my personal credentials with a scammer...
I received a call on my personal number on February 1, 2025, from this number (8691858306), where the caller requested my Aadhaar number, PAN card details, job offer letter, and OTPs that I would receive. I mistakenly shared all this information, as I also received an email and text message from HDFC confirming the OTPs and instructing me to share them with the caller. Additionally, I completed an online KYC process and submitted my PAN card details. I received a follow-up email with an application reference number, which initially allowed me to track my application. However, later, the tracking system stopped showing any results. When I attempted to contact the caller, their phone was switched off. After checking the number on Truecaller, I discovered that they are a known scammer. As of now, no unauthorized transactions have been made from my account, but I am extremely concerned about the security of my personal information. I am particularly worried that my salary, which is credited on the last working day of the month, might be redirected to their account. I tried contacting HDFC on X, they said to share this instance via mail, but I'm getting: Your message to the Microsoft 365 group couldn't be delivered. The group isn't set up to receive messages from my mail id. What all precautions things should I do/keep in mind now?1
