84% win rate, BJP winning 126 seats out of 149 seats they were fighting, meanwhile Congress leading in just 20 seats out of 101 seats.
Whole Maharashtra politics got changed, yet BJP+ won again in 2024, like 2019.
Election results (trends)
Mahayuti- BJP - 125 out of the 149 seats it is contesting. Shiv Sena (shinde) - 55 out of 81 seats NCP( Ajit Pawar) - 38 out of 59 seats.
Maha Vikas Aghadi - Congress - 20 out of the 101 seats it is contesting. Shiv Sena ( Thackeray) - 13 out of 95 seats NCP (Sharad Pawar) - 19 out of 86 seats.
In last 5 years, so such drama has been in Maharashtra's politics, so many narratives have changed, whole dynamics of Maharashtra politics changed, friends became enemies and enemies became friends. Parties spilt up, egos clashed, intra party coups happened, leaders changed, names of political parties changed, symbol changed, new teams came up, government changed multiple times post election, Bollywood added it's flavour too and media was all over it. It was too much to handle.
But, admist all this people often forget one simple thing that even in 2019 people of Maharashtra voted for BJP led NDA alliance. And, they did same now. It hasn't changed, which is surprising and obvious at the same time. BJP won most seats in 2019, they are at top in now 2024 too. NDA won in 2019, and NDA is winning again. The story becomes interesting when you understand that, BJP is leading in 126 seat out of 149 in which they are fighting. If it translates to final results, which it is mostly likely too, then that's 84% win rate. Other parties are no where near it. For comparison, Congress is leading in 20 seats out of 101 seats (19% win rate). There seems to be a very strong BJP voter base in Maharashtra, which is 3rd largest state in India - Area wise, 2nd largest state in India - Population wise and largest State in India - GDP wise.
Let's hope there is no post election drama this time and election follows with development and growth, pushing Maharashtra swiftly towards $1 Trillion GDP.
