The Real Problem Isn't the Content—It's the Parenting
I’m gonna say something that people here might not like. I think, yes—the kind of content Samay and other comedians make, or even movies and series with mature themes like abuse and gore, shouldn’t be watched by kids under 16. Simple as that. But the real problem? Parents—and even some people our age—don’t get this. So kids end up watching this stuff, and yeah, it does affect them. It’s not good for them. But instead of actually moderating what their kids are watching, people, the government, news channels—everyone—is just reacting in the dumbest, most useless way possible. FIRs, outrage, unnecessary drama. And guess what? None of this is gonna stop kids from finding ways to watch what they want. If they can’t even control access to porn, do you really think they can stop kids from watching movies or comedy shows which are not meant for them? Not happening. So instead of getting mad at a comedy sketch or a scene in a movie, parents should just do their job—moderate what their kids watch. And news channels? Instead of adding fuel to the fire, they should educate people on how to use tools like digital well-being, YouTube Kids, and Google history which are the way people moderate their kids in other countries. If parents are so worried, they can either take their kid’s phone and PC away (which, let’s be real, isn’t practical) or just spend 15 minutes a day checking what their kid is watching. If they find something inappropriate, explain why it’s bad—don’t just beat the living shit out of them.4
