Is their such a thing as too subtle acting in your opinion.
Because I think there is,and I don't like too subtle or too understated performance,it's ofc better than overacting but what I really like is some balanced act. For instance,I used to like ML of Uttaran but also think he was may be a bit too understated. Also I am not always dismissive of theatrical/non subtle acting,it depends,I think there are actors who even if they lean bit towards overdoing it or it may not be the most subtle there's still something about their performance that connects with you. For instance,there are many adaptations of jane eyre but Timothy dalton's Mr Rochester is many's fav Rochester,even if he was considered theatrical/wasn't the most subtle. Ofc if the performance is completely artificial or exaggerated with nothing honest or touching about it then one can't like it.5
