Appreciative post for one of the best ITV shows of all time 💙
Currently binge-watching this show, and I’m just so obsessed with it. I’m so mad that ITV doesn’t pair up actors with such incredible chemistry anymore. Rajat and Paridhi were absolutely phenomenal at their jobs. The casting was perfect, the acting was excellent, and while the set designs were a bit tacky, they were still beautiful. Rajat’s screen presence is impeccable, and I genuinely don’t think anyone could have played that part better than him. His dedication and aura were unmatched. This is exactly why I believe Rajat was, and probably will always be, the best actor to portray Akbar. Hrithik couldn’t bring the same depth to the character that Rajat could. I’ve always been a fan of Rajat Tokas’s acting, and I was surprised to learn that he was just 22 years old when he played that character—such amazing talent. Also, I think he’s incredibly handsome, and his attractiveness radiates through the screen. Paridhi’s acting is top-notch. She’s one gorgeous woman, dude. I mean, she was so good at her job—graceful, stunning, and absolutely breathtaking in every way. Her pink lehengas stole my heart like nothing else. Women are friggin’ beautiful, and Paridhi is a perfect example of that. Her dialogue delivery and speaking skills were exceptional; I’m simply in awe of her. Ashwini as Maham Anga was probably one of the best casting choices ever made. I love how this show brought out the best in every actor. There are moments when I get goosebumps just watching her. She is phenomenal. Her intense scenes are so scary, man. Props to Ashwini for being such an incredible artist—she truly touched my heart. Lavina Tandon was just as satisfying to watch. Her portrayal of Rukaiya Begum brought out all the personality traits the character might have had. I was stalking her yesterday, and in a podcast, she mentioned receiving hate for playing the role. But she said it was satisfying because she knew she did her job right. Well, Lavina, if you’re reading this, I want to tell you that you nailed your character. Your aura was just as strong as Rajat’s, and you’re supremely talented as an artist. You’re the Katherine Pierce of Jodha Akbar. We love you. The rest of the cast was equally impressive in their roles. Ekta truly worked wonders with the casting. Beyond the acting and set designs, I also loved the way they narrated the story. Their moments cherishing their love in the afterlife were adorable. The male narrator who provided his voice for the minor developments in the story was equally brilliant. I’m absolutely in love with the show, and I know it includes some fictional elements, but who cares, lol. Safe to say, this show was Wattpad-coded before Wattpad was even a thing.5
