TMC MP Mahua Moitra Takes Sly Dig At Ex-CJI DY Chandrachud

During a Lok Sabha debate marking 75 years of the Constitution, Mahua Moitra criticized the judiciary, indirectly targeting former Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud. She accused certain judges of compromising the independence of constitutional courts, raising concerns over selective bail decisions during Chandrachud's tenure. Moitra pointed out that while high-profile cases like those of Arnab Goswami and Mohammed Zubair received bail, many others, including Gulfisha Fatima, Hany Babu, Khalid Saifi, Sharjeel Imam, and Umar Khalid, were overlooked. Her remarks highlighted perceived inconsistencies in the judiciary’s approach to justice.
