The institute needs better locks
I am a guard here at IIT KGP and I've been working here as one for the last 15 years. Recently, I've been assigned to Nehru musuem on the night shift. Yesterday while on duty, the wind was pleasant and sweet echoes of a nap started calling my name. Now I know some of you will jump at me telling me that it's "Irresponsible to slack off, especially as a security perosonnel" but c'mon man, you try staying awake in a wind as sweet and melancholic as yesterdays. So anyways, I fell asleep for maybe about an hour, only to be waken up by a pigeon, yeah, a fucking pigeon. But it's a good thing that I did for one of the doors leading to the tower staircase was wide open. Now this isn't supposed to happen, the door is locked for a reason. So imagine my surprise when i see the door lock open, not broken in, but opened. This meant that someone had broken into the main office and stolen the keys. I reported the incident before investigating further, only to find out that the key has not moved from the office since the preivous director resigned. Before I could go up to investigate, a bunch of students walked down the tower, a girl and a boy. And guess what, the girl had the key. Yeah. A place locked with a supposely 'strong' lock gets opened by a random key. Why you may ask? because the lock isn't 'strong' at all. I tried my own keys on the lock and found out that nearly every one of them was able to open the lock. Anyways I tried to chase those students but a pigeon again tried to perform an orbital strike on my head. I swear those pigeons sometimes act way smarter than I believe them to be. Almost as if it was trying to prevent me from tailing the two students.2
